National action plan - Lowland heathland

Vision statement

Our knowledge of lowland heathlands has greatly improved during the last 10 yrs. However the lack of a system to record distribution, condition and progress agains targets has made reporting on numerical targets difficult. A GIS-based system is likely to be the only workable way to do this.

HLS should contribute to the long-term maintenance of lowland heathlands (England only).
